Things to do at Sherwood Park this Fall

Sherwood Park is a large green space located near the intersection of Yonge & Eglinton. The park features a variety of sites to meet for small and large gatherings, as well as a large off-leash dog area, a ball diamond, and a wading pool.

Have a Picnic

With COVID-19 restrictions and safety measures still in place at eateries across the city, Sherwood Park is the perfect setting to meet a loved one or friend for an unforgettable meal. As the leaves begin adopting a captivating autumn colour palette, head to one Sherwood Park’s various picnic spots, including covered and uncovered picnic tables, or vast grassy areas where you can set up a blanket for your picnic. Pack a basket yourself and consider gourmet cheese and charcuterie options from local grocers such as Stock T.C or Summerhill Market. Alternatively, stop for food on your way from Parker. Tacos from La Carnita or finger food and pub fare from Granite Brewery are both great available options on your walk from Parker to Sherwood Park.

Hike the Sherwood Park Trail

Sherwood Park’s 44 acres feature gorgeous walking trails spanning throughout the length of the park, taking you past lush forests and calming ravines. Many sections of the trail are covered in boardwalks, allowing for an easy hike through some of the steeper and rougher areas, as well as protecting the plant life growing below and around. Enjoy the crisp autumn weather while taking in the sites of Sherwood Park.

Take an Outdoor Yoga Class

Follow the Blythwood Ravine north from Sherwood Park to reach Alexander Muir Memorial Gardens, located just 5-minutes away by car or 20-minutes away on foot. Here, you will find Yoga in the Park, hosted by Bella Fit Yoga. These classes will be hosted all October long. Bella Fit Yoga offers a variety of outdoor classes, including Sunset Yoga and Yoga Vibes, a restorative class with live music by guitarist Rob Binstock.
