Immerse Yourself in Artworks by Ninth Editions at Parker

View art pieces by some of the greatest contemporary artists right at home with Parker’s curated art collection.

Parker commissioned artists through Ashley Mulvihill of Ninth Editions. Mulvihill was inspired by the architectural and material elements of Parker when selecting curated works. “There are a lot of natural materials and curved shapes,” says Mulvihill. “We wanted to include art that felt like an extension of the property so that every layer felt seamless.”

With this design philosophy in mind, Mulvihill selected works from Caleb Nussear, Caitlin Koegh, and Cassie Suche.

Nussear was commissioned to create a custom piece for Parker. “The sculptural, almost architectural, quality of his artworks, paired with the organic imagery he builds using coloured pencil, pastel, and India ink create artworks that marry the urban and natural worlds”, says Mulvihill.

Mulvihill also selected from Koegh’s series Dior Fragments, “allowing residents and guests to see themselves as they pass by.” These works layer torn pieces of Christian Dior’s autobiography over mirror, overlapping one’s own image with Dior’s words. “The subtle detail of these works with their historical references and playful compositions reflect the sophisticated and thoughtful design of Parker,” says Mulvihill.

Suche was also commissioned for a large sculpture in the Entertainment Kitchen. Mulvihill finds Suche’s work “playful and whimsical while still maintaining a polished approach.” Suche adds, “I take an experimental and playful approach to working. I spend a lot of time just exploring mediums and materials. I let these experiments lead me in a direction of interest, and then I like to bring in an element of structure and repetition, usually to balance the work. Everything I produce is abstract because my intention is often to highlight the process itself.”
